HOW IT WORKS

  • Before you start make sure you have all the information you need for each person hiring equipment.
  • Make a check list of full names, sex, age, weight, height, shoe size and ski or board level.
  • Click on the Book Now link above right
  • Select your first day of skiing
  • You will then be greeted with the screen below to choose the ski or snowboard equipment required.
  • Enter the applicable information and sizes required
  • Add additional equipment for each person as applicable and once complete, go to checkout
  • Fill in your details
  • Authorise holding payment
  • CHX Local will then contact you to agree a delivery and convenient fitting time
  • At your request yourl equipment is delivered and expertly fitted at Chalet No. 5
  • Then at the end of the stay CHX Local will collect everything and either take payment or deduct it from your pre-authorised card.

FAQ'S

Where can I find the prices for hire of the equipment?

Simply click on the link above, enter your the first date of skiing, and you will then see prices for the cost of equipment. Note there are different tabs of skis, snow boards and other equipment.

Can CHX Local cater for all ages and abilities – what if some of us want advanced skis rather than standard for example?

CHX Local can supply a variety of skis and snowboards for all terrains, abilities and ages. Prices vary depending on the level of ski or snowboard selected, e.g. Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, etc.

What happens if we arrive late at night or my flights are delayed and I arrive late evening?

CHX Local operate later than most shops, officially up to 8pm on a Saturday or Sunday, and sometimes beyond (with prior arrangement). If you are arriving later than expected, please contact CHX Local to rearrange a later fitting time. If a late service cannot be provided then the CHX Local team will arrange the next best suitable time, generally an ‘early morning’ visit, or later, as preferred.

What happens if we have a problem, or need to change our equipment?

CHX Local provide the same service as other ski hire shops, with the added benefit of bringing their expert service directly to your door. Should you have a problem during your stay you can contact the CHX Local team to discuss and they will quickly correct and / or swap any equipment as required. There is no additional charge for this service, unless of course you choose to upgrade or change equipment of a different price, then the difference to your bill will be adjusted accordingly for the remainder of the hire period.

Is the chalet service more expensive than a ski hire shop?

We don’t think so. We’ve benchmarked prices against local ski hire shops and find CHX Local prices very competitive.

Can we hire ski and snowboard helmets?

Yes, helmets can be ordered and supplied as well as other safety equipment. Please reserve when ordering ski and snowboard equipment, see separate tab in booking system.

Are the ski and board technicians qualified?

All technicians have been appropriately trained and qualified to fit and modify skis, snowboard, bindings and boots. Contact the CHX Local team for more information.

Should I book early for peak week holiday periods, for example Christmas, New Year or half term ski holidays?

Yes, for peak weeks we strongly advise that you reserve the equipment well in advance of your holiday dates to reserve the best skis and to ensure you can rent your first-choice options without disappointment.

What if I decide not to use CHX Local, can I hire from another shop?

No problem you can use any provider you wish. CHX Local are our preferred partner. However, please note, if you use an alternative provider, we are unable to support your rental within our ‘included free’ concierge service and any concierge support requested will therefore be chargeable. Any transport required for collecting (and returning) skis and / or snowboard equipment will also be chargeable. Just contact the Chamonix Exclusive team for rates and advice prior to booking.
