Here in Chamonix, the ski lifts are closed but the heart and soul of everything we love about the mountains and their charm is still evident in this beautiful mountain resort.

It’s the February Half Term Holidays, and the weather is absolutely glorious with iconic blue skies and plenty of sunshine. Anyone venturing out and about would not fail to notice the long queues at the ski and bike rental shops in Chamonix town centre. You can hire so many things such as cross-country skis, touring skis, snowshoes, sleds in every shape, colour and size, and at the many bike hire Chamonix shops there is an array of bikes to satisfy everyone’s tastes. Mountain bike rentals are available to children and adults, while electric-powered bikes are offered to teenagers and adults only.

The Electric Bike Revolution

Fat-tire-electric-bikes are the latest craze with visitors this year. These fashionable bikes can be seen cruising along the pisted paths and along the forest floor for a fun-filled afternoon. If you are curious about this new and fascinating pastime, you may be surprised to find a bike hire reasonably priced at around 40€ for 3 hours.
