Easter Ski Holidays

Russian New Year Ski Holidays

This year we have some great ski deals for the Russian New Year at both Chamonix's finest ski in ski out Chalet Prarion and the boutique luxury Chalet Panoramique in Chamonix's exclusive Coupeau residence. Chalet Prarion is offered on a nine day break that starts on the 5th January 2012 and departs on the 14th. The price for up to 12 guests is just £10,800 including airport transfers. Chalet Panoramique is offered from the 1st January to 8th January for 6 guests and is priced at £9,600.

Ski in ski out Chalet Prarion includes a Games Room, sunkenhot tub, cinema projection and an on call driver service. Chalet Panoramique with its high wood beamed and floor to ceiling windows includes gourmet dining, morning and evening drop-off service and a champagne reception.

Selios To Launch FastJet Competitor As A Rival To Easyjet

Easy Jet have confirmed officially that Stelios Haji-Ioannou has advised that he has confirmed to them that he will be launching a new airline competitor called Fastjet. Rumoured in September, it was thought to be a leveraging tool for Stelios to use in his ongoing and somewhat acrimonious negotaitions with EasyJet, the company he founded in 1995.  By all accounts and slightly stranger, Stelios has a reported 38% shareholding in EasyJet and any damage that could occur to Easyjet cwould therefore affect his own personal wealth. A holding page (Fastjet.com) with the logo and text stating 'by Stelios. Coming soon." can already be found on the internet. 

Easyjet certainly appear unhappy by this and announced to the City formally that they had "received notice from Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou that he intends to set up an airline branded Fastjet and that a website has already been established". Suggesting this could be a long and drawn out protracted legal battle, they go on to suggest that  "EasyJet has a number of rights under its agreements with Sir Stelios and easyGroup IP Licensing Ltd (a subsidiary of EasyGroup Holdings Limited) as described in the Circular to shareholders dated 16th November 2010." and that "any activity of Fastjet, Sir Stelios or any company controlled by him infringes or would infringe those rights, easyJet will take necessary action to protect the rights of easyJet and the interests of its shareholders".

The Stelios reply was no better and one would suggest that a few corporate lawyers will now be ringing their hands with excitement at what looks in prospect to be one hell of a dirty and very public feud between the two parties:

"Sir Stelios strongly believes that the directors of easyJet, via a smear campaign conducted by off the record briefings to journalists, have repeatedly breached the clause below, so he has terminated the effect of the letter for repudiatory breach and has rejected all payments offered under this letter since May 2011."

As the Summer Ends We Look Forward To Winter

It's Snowing

Well it may only be September but this weekends cold front has certainly put a chill on the temperatures here in the Chamonix Valley with snow falling this morning as low as 1,600m before rising to 1,900m. High up on the Mont Blanc with local Guides from Mont Blanc Guides reporting as much as 70cm of fresh snow making the route for late season climbers difficult. Snow is expected to continue for most of the day before slowing and stopping around tea time. Tomorrow is expected to be brighter and warmer with temperatures returining to double figures and sunshine for most of the day.
