CHAMONIX CHRISTMAS SKI HOLIDAYS

CHAMONIX CHRISTMAS

SKIING & SNOWBOARDING

Ski in ski out Chalet No.5 is of course a special location for that once in a lifetime Chamonix Christmas holiday, but ski convenience is only part of the reason that a Christmas ski holiday here is something you will never forget.

Firstly, Chamonix offers so much on and off the pistes, and unlike so many other resorts it therefore provides a lot more than just great skiing and snowboarding, making it ideal  for non-skiers and snowboarders in the party.

A historic and charming town, it provides such a unique, magical ambience on a beautiful, snowy canvass.  Who after all doesn’t love a “White Christmas” with fabulous Christmas lights and traditional architecture as a backdrop? Mix this with thousands of happy, joyous revellers getting all excited for the special day and you really do have the spirit of Christmas.

And don’t panic if in your busy daily lives if you haven’t had time to do some or all of your Christmas shopping prior to arrival. Chamonix has a vast array of shops to shop in until your hearts content with something for everyone. Whether it is a toy and games shop for the children, that authentic, traditional wood sledge, mountain outlets for a new ski or snowboard jacket, or those must have Sorrel Boots, a new wallet, the latest Chanel coat, designer outlets for the special occasion attire, or that mountain jumper for relaxing in front of the fire at your favourite ski in ski out retreat (Chalet No. 5 of course (!)).

And once the shopping is complete, settle in to one of the many fabulous restaurants, a classic fondue, or raclette perhaps in front of a roaring fire? Or in front of the log fire at ski in ski out Chalet No. 5 where we will eat on you hand and foot (Luxury Plus guests).

SO MUCH TO DO!

CHAMONIX CHRISTMAS ACTIVITIES

There really is so much to do in Chamonix this Christmas. Highlight of the week (even for the older ones amongst us) has to be Christmas Eve when Santa arrives in our old historic Chamonix town on his sledge to meet all the children and hand out an early present or two. It is all part of the build to the exciting day with the streets heaving with families and friends, all full of smiles and enjoying vendors and Christmas fayre on and off the streets. And then if you need to manage the excitement, and one of the bars isn't your choice, why not pop along to the ice rink, relax in the Spa, or the large swimming pool. Too sedate, then the luge, or tae a trip to the ice caves, and that's just the tip of the iceberg.....

And no need to worry if you have non-skiers in the party. Chamonix has so many things to do as we have already mentioned above. You won't be bored as you can also take a horse drawn sleigh ride, a husky trip, or the cable car and viewing platforms at the top of l'Aiguille du Midi, the Montenvers tram to the Mer de Glace, the shops, the restaurants (including Michelin Star ones), and for the grandparents amongst us who aren't skiing, you could just sit on the south facing decking in the sun at ski in ski out Chalet No.5 and watch the grandchildren ski by!
